Yesterday, my children and I attended the C.H.I.P.S. Program in Spruce View.  This was our first time attending the program.

The program is sponsored by West Red Deer County FCSS.  C.H.I.P.S. is a children’s indoor play space program.  It is put on every week for children up to the age of 4 years old.  The program gives rural children an opportunity to interact and play with other children and for parents and/or caregivers to interact with each other.  The program has been running for five years and host 10 – 15 families per week.  The cost is $4 per family.  C.H.I.P.S runs every Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:30.

I feel this is a valuable program to participate it.  We live between Innisfail and Spruce View and it is nice to have the opportunity to build friendships or networks with families with children of similar ages in our immediate area.  It is important for the children to interact with other children as well, being as other play dates are few and far between - normally when we go to town, it’s to run errands and get as much done in one day as possible (especially when gas prices are soaring!).

It’s nice to be able to participate in programs such as this!  Kudos to West Red Deer County FCSS for sponsoring this program!
