Lot is happening in and around Innisfail lately.
Of course I mentioned that hockey has started – so that the Innisfail Arena is a happening place.
As well football is well underway. The Innisfail PeeWee Football team is undefeated so far. They have been having a great season under the expert coaching of Kent Lorenz. They were in Olds yesterday and won 15-0. After that the boys were treated to Pizza back in Innisfail. There next game is Saturday where they will meet Red Deer right here in Innisfail.
There are many building construction projects underway around town. The old Jackson’s Pharmacy building is being renovated to hold a Sporting goods store. The Henday mall is getting a complete facelift. And some work is being done at the storage facitily across from the arena.
Also road construction is still happening on both the east and west sides of Innisfail. They are updating the main entrance to Innisfail from the QEII highway.
The rink is an active place again!
For the last week the minor hockey association has been running conditioning camps and double AA tryouts.
My two boys are happy to be back on skates. They are having fun bumping and grinding and chasing the puck.
The last 3-4 days the tryouts have been going well. By Saturday they should be almost winding up, with inter-squad games being played on Saturday.
I will try to slip down and take a few pics of the action.
Here are a few more pictures of local Innisfail Businesses.
Here is one of the new Innisfail Carwash – over by highway 2 on the NE side of town.
Design for Dogs is another Innisfail Business

And the New Hotel being built – at least I think it is a hotel
Just a few pics of local business around town.
Pem-Co Diversified Inc. – a loc
al construction company that does excellent work (or so my good buddy Joe tells me)

Fourlane Ford – run by Jeff Denham. I see many fords around town sold by Jeff and his team.

Scotia Bank – one of four banks in town

EastGate Mall – on the east side of Innisfail just as you enter from the QEII highway.

If you head out west of town past the Innisfail cemetary you will see quite a bit of construction happening.

This is the new town of Innisfail water storage tank – or soon will be. It will hold water for the town to increase the capacity of water available to the town of Innisfail.
A little bit further you will see a new road running west of town that will soon tie in to the south Innisfail overpass.

This will allow the heavy traffic heading out to Glennifer Lake and west of town to Caroline and Rocky Mountain House to bypass main street and take the south town QEII exit.
