Canadian Beef - Now Everywhere The Beef Information Centre has been working very diligently to promote Canadian Beef to Canadian consumers. The have partnered with several restaurants and grocers to help promote and distribute Canadian Beef. Some of the restaurants that the Beef Information Centre has partnered with are: White Spot Restaurant, Jack Astors Bar and Grill, abc Country Restaurants (in BC and Alberta) and Quiznos Restaurant. These restaurants have created some unique menu item to help highlight and promote Canadian Beef. These unique menu items are on all of their advertising along with the 100% Canadian Beef logo. The Beef Information Centre attended the annual Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors conference. During the conference the Beef Information Centre and TMF (The Meat Factory) partnered to provide samples of TMF's Lou's brand Slow Roasted Beef Tips in Red Wine Gravy (made with 100% Canadian Beef) to all attendees of the conference. Another succesful partnership with TMF was at Toronto's major consumer trade show. Ontario Sobeys helped to promote Canadian Beef by providing 82 in-store demos for shoppers to sample Canadian Beef. Shoppers were given a recipe and coupons for the products that they sampled. Costco Canada has always been a major distributer of Canadian AAA Beef with prominent displays of the Canadian Beef Brand logo on the walls and packaging. Costco Canada is launching a new "Premium Beef Program" that will featuure only Canadian Prime Beef. Canadian Prime Beef is the highest grade of beef offered in Canada. Canadian Prime Beef is normally only found at the finest restaurants. Costco Canada and the Beef Information Centre will be providing pamphlets with cooking recomendations and recipies for Canadian Prime Beef consumers. With more demand for Canadian Prime Beef, Canadian Prime carcasses can now be sold at a premium rather than at the AAA level. Through these initiativesthe Beef Information Centre hopes that Canadian Beef Producers will start to see more value in their products and provide a postive outlook for the future of the Canadian Beef Industry.
